On March 9, 2011, Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber signed Senate Bill 301. A piece of this bill will reconnect Oregon to the portion of the federal tax code for 2010 that allows parents to keep their children on their health plans until they reach age 26, without being taxed on the benefit. With this legislation the need to impute income for Oregon state taxes on adult children under age 26 will no longer be an issue.
